Narrative

Narrative Narrative - The way something is told/ How the story is told and portrayed Narrator - The one who tells the story. Narratology is a state of balance (Tzvetan Todorov) Establishment of Equilibrium -> Disequilibrium -> Partial restoration of equlibrium. e.g. when a prince saves a princess he is rewarded with her love - so sometimes things go to being better than they were before. 'New' Equilibrium - Things don't always don't always go back to normal. e.g. Finding Nemo Narrative is also moving from one state of equilibrium to another. LIMINALITY- A period of transition. MULTI-STRAND NARRATIVE - A narrative that follows many isolated narratives. SINGLE-STRAND NARRATIVE- A narrative that follows a single narrative. NON-LINEAR NARRATIVE- A Narrative that is non chronological. LINEAR NARRATIVE- A Narrative that is chronological.
