Humans Mini Mini Mock

In Humans, the most prevalent Binary Opposition is the differences between Humans and Cyborgs called 'Synths". In the scence where Anita is first introduced to Laura, their differences are made evident my the mise-en-scene of their clothing: Anita, the synth wears very basic, bland and non-provocative clothing that suggest she is  nothing but a machine made to do the chores. Laura wears colourful, stereotypical modest clothing for a middle aged mum of which suggest she a personality of which cyborgs do not. This further infers that Anita is a slave to the Hawkins family as they have not bothered to dress her in anything other that her generic synth clothing, whereas Laura is a valued member of the family that deserves better treatment and respect than Anita even though physically they appear to be the same gender.

Furthermore, the binary opposition between Synths and Humans is reinforced in the scene where Leo confronts Sadiq. Leo holds up a worn photograph of a low angle shot of Anita, posed is a relaxed fashion, with good natural lighting behind a naturalistic scenery whilst he is stood in a threatening position towering over Sadiq against a dirty backstreet wall in low key lighting. This is reinforced with the close up shot of Leo arguing with Sadiq in an anti-social manner, of which suggests Synths are made to be perfect and live in harmony whereas as Humans have flaws of which is what makes them different from the Synths. Leo is unshaven and wearing multiple layers of clothing in this scene of which suggest he is an outlaw of the run, whereas in the photograph Anita is well dressed of which suggests that Synths are controlled to be how the government want them to be and to a specification, however humans are a failed race that have not succeeded.
