Representations are not real - they are a construction of reality.

Every media product has bias.

Attractive to a teenage female audience?
Late teens/early 20s
Dark features make him look rebellious.
Looks stereotypically french - aimed at a french audience.


Camille Séguret: (15)
Young White Female
Clothes aren't stereotypical for a teenage girl in a western world in a modern day era.
She's been cast because she looks young.
Attracts the target audience of teenagers who may aspire to be like her.
Quite smartly dressed for a teenager - atypical representation.
Old beyond her years.
Complex representation - reflected in the complicated narrative.

 Claire Séguret:
Appeals to middle aged men
Blonde hair
Very minimal makeup = Hardworking??
Looks like a stereotypical middle class mum













Mme Costa:
Stereotypical older french woman.
Tanned Skin



Julie Meyer:
Blue Eyes
Pale skin
